Summer Activities


Hiking

The Bruce Trail begins or ends in Tobermory, winding down the eastern shoreline of the Bruce Peninsula, and is Canada’s oldest and longest footpath. The Bruce trail is known to be at it's best on the Bruce with gorgeous vistas and amazing flora and fauna.

Beaches

Since the Bruce Peninsula is surrounded by water - there are many beach to visit. Beaches vary from tables of limestone rock on Georgian Bay to miles of sugar sand. Sunsets on the beaches of Lake Huron are second to none! Swimming is also available from our Tamarac dock.

Kayaking & Canoeing

Spend a couple of hours or a couple of days discovering the hidden places of the Bruce Peninsula by kayak or canoe.Visit one of several local outfitters for your boat rental needs.

Boating

Our dock and boat slips ( with hydro & water) make Summer boating a highlight in the warm season.

Fishing

Salmon, Lake Trout, Bass, Perch, Pickerel - all available in the gorgeous waters surrounding the peninsula. Lake Huron & Georgian Bay offers the fishing experience of a lifetime!

 

Winter Activities

Tamarac Island Resort is open all winter catering to snowmobiles, skiers, snowshoeing and those that simply love the beauty of winter.

enjoy the warmth of the fire after a day in the snow or simply watch nature at it's grandest from the comfort of the inn.

 

Chicheemaun Ferry to Manitoulin Island

The trip across to Manitoulin passes through the Fathom Five Marine Park - with a great view of the Cove Island Light. Enjoy a sunset dinner cruise from Tobermory in the summer.

Bruce Peninsula National Park & Fathom Five National Marine Park

These 2 national parks have so much to offer tourists! Some breath-taking Georgian Bay shorelines, shipwrecks, Flowerpots, Islands - lots to keep you busy for days.
